Backend Engineer, Flag Delivery
About this role
Join LaunchDarkly's Flag Delivery team to build and operate high-scale, low-latency systems that stream feature-flag configuration to SDKs globally in near real time. You'll own projects end-to-end using Go, AWS, and Terraform, with mentorship from senior engineers on distributed systems and production operations.
What you'll do
- Build, ship, and operate streaming and polling infrastructure for flag delivery
- Own projects from design through implementation, rollout, and operational support
- Investigate and resolve production issues while participating in on-call rotation
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code and design reviews
- Improve observability and reliability of owned systems
- Collaborate across SDK Engineering, Data Platform, and product teams

- Backend language proficiency (Go, Rust, Python, Java, or equivalent)
- Cloud platform experience (AWS or similar)
- Data structures and algorithms
- Concurrency and distributed systems fundamentals
- API design
- Observability tooling and log/trace analysis
- Production debugging and troubleshooting
- Testing and code quality practices
