About this role

Leland seeks an experienced software engineering coach to mentor students and professionals on core technical skills—architecture, frontend frameworks, AI system design, LLM fine-tuning, and prompt engineering—while also guiding career development through interview prep, resume review, and negotiation strategy. Coaches set their own hours and rates, working virtually with flexibility and autonomy.

What you'll do

  • Teach software engineering fundamentals including architecture, design patterns, and frontend frameworks
  • Coach students on AI-driven engineering topics: AI system design, code review, model development, and prompt engineering
  • Provide career guidance including resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn optimization
  • Prepare students for technical and behavioral interviews, including salary negotiation and promotion strategy
  • Build structured, practical learning plans tailored to individual student goals
  • Partner with Leland team to maintain high-quality, supportive mentoring experience
