Software Engineer II, Lab Software

LILA is looking for a backend-focused Software Engineer II to enhance their Lab Software Team. The role involves creating tools for automated scientific analysis and requires collaboration with scientists and engineers to integrate various data pipelines and APIs.

What you'll do

• Design and build secure APIs and UI
• Develop database schemas and manage diverse data systems
• Implement front-end and back-end services
• Optimize system performance and reliability
• Utilize AWS and modern DevOps practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on scientific workflows

What they're looking for

• 2-5 years of engineering experience
• Full stack development (React, TypeScript, Python)
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
• Competence in cloud services (AWS)
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with AI coding assistants
• Knowledge of orchestration systems (Airflow, Prefect)
