RF Engineer
About this role
Mach Industries, a defense technology startup, seeks an RF Engineer to design advanced RF front ends and transceivers for next-generation autonomous defense platforms including UAVs and missiles. You'll lead RF circuit development from concept through manufacturing while collaborating across electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
What you'll do
- Design RF front ends, transceivers, phased arrays, transmitters, and receivers for defense systems
- Develop RF component designs including matching networks, filters, LNAs, mixers, VGAs, and synthesizers
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout for RF transceivers and high-speed circuits
- Conduct design validation testing using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and related test equipment
- Troubleshoot EMI/RFI issues and analyze field operational performance data
- Contribute to RF/microwave system integration and embedded software development

- RF circuit design and simulation (AWR MWO, Keysight ADS, or Genesys)
- RF fundamentals (impedance matching, Smith charts, IP3, phase noise, microwave network analysis)
- PCB layout and schematic capture (Altium Designer)
- RF test equipment operation (signal generators, spectrum/signal analyzers, network analyzers)
- MATLAB programming
- Antenna and radar design concepts
- High-speed circuit design
