About this role

Mariana Minerals seeks a Materials Engineer to develop and scale novel material synthesis processes from lab to commercial production. You'll design experiments, optimize chemical processes, create detailed engineering diagrams, and collaborate with R&D and software teams to bring critical mineral technologies to market.

What you'll do

  • Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale wet chemical synthesis experiments to validate concepts and develop material formulations
  • Design experiments to establish reaction parameters, optimize yields, and ensure reproducibility
  • Evaluate equipment and process configurations for pilot and commercial-scale operations
  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and mass/energy balances for scale-up
  • Collaborate with R&D scientists, operations, vendors, and software teams to execute scale-up and process automation
  • Analyze process data, conduct safety reviews, and prepare technical documentation for stakeholders
