About this role

Mobius seeks an AI Engineer with 12+ years of experience to support government teams in designing, evaluating, and operationalizing AI-enabled applications and workflows. This hands-on role involves working across the full AI lifecycle—from LLM-based systems and agentic workflows to integration and security—while collaborating with government stakeholders in Huntsville, AL.

What you'll do

  • Design, evaluate, and guide practical application of AI tools and mission-focused workflows for government teams
  • Provide technical assessment across AI lifecycle including prototyping, integration, testing, and operational evaluation
  • Evaluate LLM patterns, RAG systems, agentic workflows, and orchestration frameworks while explaining tradeoffs to stakeholders
  • Review architectures and development approaches to ensure solutions are reliable, secure, testable, and mission-aligned
  • Prototype and evaluate emerging AI frameworks and experimentation tools; deliver technical briefings and performance assessments
  • Collaborate with platform engineers, product leads, and government leadership to keep initiatives operationally relevant

  • Large language models and LLM application design
  • Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar AI development languages
  • Agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or equivalent)
  • Vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
  • API design, data handling, and system integration fundamentals
  • Model evaluation frameworks and testing harnesses
  • Secure AI development and government operational security practices
  • Technical communication to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
