About this role
MongoDB seeks a Software Engineer 3 for the Replication Team to design and implement distributed-systems features in C++ that ensure high availability and fault tolerance. You'll work on core database infrastructure, particularly Raft consensus protocol implementation, and collaborate across teams to shape major MongoDB releases.
What you'll do
- Design and implement replication features based on Raft consensus protocol
- Write production-quality C++ code with comprehensive unit, integration, and system tests
- Diagnose bugs, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve distributed-systems issues
- Measure performance impact and prevent regressions across the replication system
- Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives with partner teams and customers
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and mentor junior engineers
