Manufacturing Operations Engineer
About this role
Neros seeks a Manufacturing Operations Engineer to optimize and oversee production of high-performance unmanned systems for defense applications. You'll eliminate production bottlenecks, implement lean methodologies, and collaborate with design teams to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency at scale.
What you'll do
- Remove production obstacles and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing goals are met
- Apply lean and industrial engineering principles (1-piece flow, value stream mapping, 5S, poka-yoke) to optimize assembly lines
- Collaborate with Design and NPI teams on design changes that improve manufacturability
- Maintain and update manufacturing documentation including BOMs, work instructions, and fixture designs
- Design and optimize workstations for ergonomics and efficiency in medium to high-volume production
- Support transition of new products from engineering development to full production

- Industrial or manufacturing engineering (BS or equivalent experience)
- High-volume assembly line optimization and process improvement
- Lean and 6 Sigma methodologies
- Line balancing, WIP management, and 1-piece flow principles
- Fixturing design and mechanical assembly knowledge
- Electronics or electromechanical product assembly experience
- BOM and work instruction documentation
- NPI (New Product Introduction) transition management
