Mechanical Engineer (Product Owner)
About this role
Northwood seeks a Product Systems Engineer to lead the development of antenna systems for satellite communications infrastructure. You'll own antenna products from architecture through deployment, combining expertise in mechanical/electrical/RF engineering with cross-functional leadership to deliver complex, real-world systems.
What you'll do
- Own technical development and execution of antenna systems from concept through production and field deployment
- Translate customer and mission requirements into system architectures, performance budgets, and verification strategies
- Coordinate development across mechanical, electrical, RF, embedded software, thermal, manufacturing, and test disciplines
- Lead system-level trade studies balancing antenna performance, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and deployment speed
- Drive prototype builds, integration, testing, and production-readiness reviews with root-cause investigation
- Manage development schedules, critical-path dependencies, and risk-mitigation plans across engineering teams
