About this role
Notion seeks a Software Engineer to build trust and security features that protect millions of users while enabling growth. You'll develop authentication systems, AI-powered abuse detection, and safety controls for Notion's AI features, partnering across teams to embed trust into the platform's core.
What you'll do
- Build authentication and security features that protect user data across consumer and enterprise customers
- Develop AI-powered systems to detect and mitigate risks including phishing, spam, fraud, and account takeover
- Create safety controls and guardrails for Notion AI and custom agent workflows
- Partner cross-functionally with Trust & Safety, Engineering, Security, and Product teams
- Shape the future of AI safety at Notion through scalable system design
- Contribute to making trust and privacy core to Notion's scaling strategy
What they're looking for
- 5-8 years of product building or security experience
- Expertise in trust, safety, authentication, security, or privacy
- Ownership and bias toward action in unstructured environments
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication
- AI/ML experience solving trust or security problems (preferred)
- Proficiency with React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, or similar technologies (nice to have)
- Experience building AI-enabled production applications (preferred)
- Problem-solving in ambiguous situations
