About this role

Nuro is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Performance team and optimize autonomous vehicle software for low-latency, efficient execution. You'll design performance monitoring systems, develop core libraries, and collaborate across teams to ensure the autonomy stack meets real-world safety and efficiency requirements.

What you'll do

  • Profile, analyze, and optimize AV software performance across multiple compute architectures
  • Design systems for memory management, thread prioritization, and process lifetime management
  • Develop core libraries and APIs enabling autonomy engineers to write high-performance code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system-level architecture and design
  • Drive performance best practices and optimization standards across the organization
  • Monitor and reduce latency and resource consumption in production systems

  • Performance profiling tools (perf, VTune, BPF, Nvidia Nsight Systems)
