About this role

Nuro seeks a Software Engineer to design and operate the performance simulation platform that validates autonomous driving software before deployment. You'll own benchmarking infrastructure spanning bare-metal hardware, cloud orchestration, and data pipelines—directly enabling the company's release velocity.

What you'll do

  • Develop job orchestration systems that schedule and execute autonomy benchmarks across physical bench-top rigs integrated into CI/CD pipelines
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation to ensure fleet reliability and proactively detect capacity bottlenecks and hardware degradation
  • Design end-to-end data pipelines capturing fine-grained performance metrics and surfacing insights through dashboards and automated regression detection
  • Collaborate with SRE teams on OS-level configuration, Linux kernel tuning, boot infrastructure, and bare-metal hardware bring-up
  • Own fleet planning and allocation strategy across hardware generations, balancing testing coverage, throughput, cost, and SLA commitments
  • Partner cross-functionally with Hardware, Perception, Behavior, and Data Science teams to translate performance analysis needs into self-service infrastructure
