About this role

Oklo seeks a Materials Test Engineer to design and execute materials-testing programs supporting advanced nuclear technology development. You'll manage the complete test lifecycle—from planning and specimen preparation through laboratory execution, data analysis, and technical reporting—while helping establish laboratory capabilities.

What you'll do

  • Develop test plans, procedures, and work instructions that translate engineering requirements into executable materials-characterization activities
  • Execute tests including setup, equipment checkout, specimen installation, monitoring, and post-test activities
  • Validate and analyze test data, identify anomalies, assess measurement uncertainty, and evaluate material properties
  • Prepare technical reports, failure analyses, and engineering documentation with clear methodology and conclusions
  • Support procurement of laboratory equipment, reference materials, instrumentation, and testing services
  • Establish and improve laboratory capabilities, calibration practices, and safe operating procedures
