About this role

OBE seeks a Telecom Engineer to lead enterprise telecommunications administration, modernization, and operational management across multiple sites. The role encompasses voice platform migrations, unified communications support, contact center technologies, and carrier management while reporting to the Director of Network Architecture and Engineering.

What you'll do

  • Lead enterprise telecom initiatives including cloud voice migrations, carrier transitions, and contact center deployments
  • Manage voice platform migrations from legacy PBX systems (Mitel, ShoreTel) to cloud platforms like 8x8 and Microsoft Teams Voice
  • Administer and optimize unified communications platforms, SIP-based systems, and cloud contact center solutions
  • Develop and execute project plans with timelines, budgets, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication
  • Coordinate between vendors, carriers, managed service providers, business leaders, and IT teams
  • Create migration runbooks, rollback plans, and user transition strategies to ensure minimal business disruption
