AI Deployment Engineer, Cyber

About this role

OpenAI is hiring an AI Deployment Engineer to help enterprise customers and security teams safely integrate AI models into cybersecurity workflows. You'll serve as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers from initial use case discovery through production deployment of AI-powered security solutions.

What you'll do

• Embed with strategic customers as technical lead for AI-enabled cybersecurity initiatives, advising both security executives and practitioners
• Lead discovery and pilots across AppSec, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, SOC/incident response, detection engineering, and cloud security use cases
• Build customer-facing demos, prototypes, and proofs of concept using OpenAI APIs, agents, and common security tools
• Design safe AI implementation patterns including tool calling, structured outputs, guardrails, and human approval workflows
• Translate between CISO-level business outcomes and practitioner-level technical implementation details
• Create reusable field assets and deliver product feedback to improve OpenAI's security offerings

• Technical consulting and solutions engineering
• Python or JavaScript programming for prototypes and integrations
• API development and integration experience
• AI/ML workflow design (retrieval, agents, guardrails, evals)
• Communication with C-suite executives and technical practitioners
• CI/CD and GitHub workflows knowledge
• Security assessment and evaluation methodology
