About this role
OpenAI seeks an AI Deployment Engineer to partner with strategic startups, guiding them through building and scaling generative AI applications on the OpenAI API. You'll serve as a technical advisor, helping customers move from ideation to production while collecting valuable product feedback to improve OpenAI's offerings.
What you'll do
- Act as technical thought partner for startup customers, helping them build and scale AI applications on the API
- Guide customers through prototyping, development, and deployment phases
- Synthesize and communicate product and model feedback to internal teams
- Create and share open-source resources, documentation, and best practices
- Identify business value opportunities and growth potential for customers
- Build relationships within the startup ecosystem and community

- Python and JavaScript proficiency
- 5+ years software or ML engineering experience
- AI/LLM best practices and API platform experience
