About this role

OpenAI seeks an AI Deployment Engineer to partner with early and growth-stage startups, guiding them from ideation through scaling on the OpenAI API platform. You'll serve as a technical thought partner, prototype solutions, and gather product feedback while collaborating across sales, research, and product teams in NYC.

What you'll do

  • Act as technical advisor to startup customers, helping them move AI applications from concept to production
  • Prototype and experiment alongside customers to demonstrate practical use cases and best practices
  • Provide strategic guidance to maximize business impact and accelerate development timelines
  • Synthesize customer feedback and deliver insights to internal Product and Research teams
  • Create and share open-source resources, documentation, and codified best practices
  • Build relationships within the startup ecosystem and serve as trusted technical partner

  • Python and JavaScript proficiency
  • 5+ years software or ML engineering experience
  • AI/LLM best practices and knowledge
