AI Success Engineer - Healthcare & Life Sciences
About this role
OpenAI seeks an AI Success Engineer to serve as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise healthcare and life sciences customers, driving adoption and value realization across OpenAI's AI platform. You'll combine technical expertise, program management, and customer advisory to guide ambitious organizations from deployment through scaled enterprise adoption, translating cutting-edge AI into measurable patient and research outcomes.
What you'll do
- Lead post-sale technical relationships and serve as trusted advisor on deployment, adoption, and value realization for enterprise customers
- Own account health, adoption velocity, and ongoing technical success across a portfolio of customers
- Identify and validate high-impact use cases by embedding with customer teams to understand workflows and pain points
- Conduct technical enablement sessions on OpenAI products (API, agentic platform, ChatGPT Enterprise, etc.) and oversee configuration and deployment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executive sponsors and technical stakeholders; align business goals with OpenAI capabilities
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, and Research to surface customer feedback and drive product improvements

- Technical account management or customer success in enterprise environments
- Deep knowledge of OpenAI products, APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns
- Healthcare or life sciences domain expertise (providers, payers, biopharma, medical devices, CROs)
- Program and project management with ability to coordinate multiple workstreams
- Customer relationship building and executive stakeholder management
- Understanding of AI model behavior, limitations, retrieval augmentation, and fine-tuning approaches
- Workflow analysis and process optimization
- Change management and organizational enablement
