About this role

OpenAI seeks an experienced AI Support Engineer to serve government customers, including U.S. agencies with FedRAMP compliance requirements. You'll troubleshoot complex technical issues, partner with cross-functional teams, and help scale support operations using AI and automation in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What you'll do

  • Support public sector and government customers with complex technical troubleshooting and compliance guidance
  • Serve as expert on OpenAI products and be the final escalation point before engineering teams
  • Partner with product, engineering, and sales teams to resolve customer issues and drive improvements
  • Use scripting and AI capabilities to automate recurring processes and improve internal tooling
  • Translate customer learnings into scalable solutions and operational improvements
  • Provide on-call support coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
