About this role

OpenAI seeks an experienced AI Support Engineer to serve government and public sector customers, including FedRAMP-compliant agencies. You'll troubleshoot complex technical issues, partner with engineering teams, and help build innovative support operations leveraging AI automation.

What you'll do

  • Support U.S. Government agencies and public sector customers with complex troubleshooting and compliance guidance
  • Resolve novel technical problems directly with customers via support tickets and messaging platforms
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Go-To-Market teams to drive improvements and reduce recurring issues
  • Develop scripts and leverage AI capabilities to automate processes and improve internal tooling
  • Serve as expert on OpenAI products and act as final line of defense before core engineering teams
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during off-hours as needed
