About this role

OpenAI seeks a senior Machine Learning Data Scientist to build foundational forecasting systems for Strategic Finance. You'll develop production-ready models predicting user growth, revenue, compute consumption, and profitability while collaborating cross-functionally to drive data-informed strategy.

What you'll do

  • Build statistical and ML models for forecasting across product, finance, infrastructure, and GTM domains
  • Own end-to-end modeling lifecycle from scoping through deployment, monitoring, and explainability
  • Develop scalable, interpretable forecasts for DAU/WAU, revenue, LTV, compute load, and profitability
  • Create self-service forecasting tools and platforms enabling real-time predictions across teams
  • Research emerging forecasting techniques including TimeGPT, LLM extensions, and causal approaches
  • Translate technical outputs into business recommendations and decision frameworks for executives
