About this role

OpenAI's Business Systems team seeks a Product Engineer to build end-to-end internal applications for Finance and Supply Chain operations. You'll own the full lifecycle from discovery through production support, working across React/TypeScript frontends, Python backends, enterprise integrations, and workflow orchestration systems.

What you'll do

  • Own complete product lifecycle for internal applications from problem discovery through implementation, rollout, and ongoing improvement
  • Build React and TypeScript user interfaces backed by well-designed Python services and APIs
  • Design and implement integrations with Oracle Fusion, Zip, and supply chain systems, including authentication, permissions, and data mapping
  • Build durable workflows using Temporal or similar technologies with proper retry handling, idempotency, audit logging, and observability
  • Apply AI models and agents to business workflows with validation, human review, and operational safeguards
  • Collaborate directly with Finance and Supply Chain stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into reliable products
