Quality Engineer - Rack Infrastructure & Site Operations - Stargate

About this role

OpenAI is hiring a Quality Engineer to oversee manufacturing and site quality for its global datacenter infrastructure network supporting AI workloads. You'll manage supplier quality, implement quality programs across the supply chain, drive yield improvements, and ensure products meet reliability standards from manufacturing through deployment.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement datacenter-focused manufacturing quality programs aligned with global deployment schedules
• Conduct vendor assessments, audits, and performance monitoring across production and delivery phases
• Establish quality metrics, track manufacturing performance, and identify trends to mitigate deployment risks
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for manufacturing and datacenter quality issues
• Facilitate cross-functional communication between manufacturing sites, design teams, and operations
• Mentor supplier teams and provide structured feedback for continuous improvement
