About this role

OpenAI seeks a Software Engineer to design and build core monetization systems for ChatGPT Ads, managing high-scale, low-latency financial infrastructure that handles billing pipelines, data validation, and revenue reconciliation. This role bridges ads delivery, data engineering, and financial systems to ensure accurate, auditable money flows across the platform.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop monetization systems for ChatGPT Ads from event capture through billing outputs
• Build and operate services and pipelines for ads monetization, including metering, pricing, and aggregation
• Define data models, schemas, and invariants ensuring consistency and auditability across billing data
• Own correctness and reconciliation between production outputs and finance/invoicing requirements
• Develop billing integrations across ChatGPT and API customer platforms
• Collaborate with Ads Engineering, Data Science, Product, Finance, and GTM teams
