About this role

OpenAI seeks a Solutions Engineer to guide enterprise customers through evaluating and implementing ChatGPT and OpenAI APIs. You'll act as a technical advisor during the pre-sales process, demonstrating AI solutions, scoping use cases, and building customer relationships while representing customer needs internally.

What you'll do

  • Deliver pre-sales technical expertise and product demonstrations to prospects, answering questions about APIs and LLM capabilities
  • Build prototypes and architectural recommendations to show how OpenAI solutions address customer business needs
  • Create documentation, guides, and FAQs addressing common customer questions and requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the evaluation and purchasing process
  • Handle initial security and compliance inquiries, escalating complex requirements to appropriate teams
  • Gather customer feedback and relay themes to internal teams for product planning

What they're looking for

  • Pre-sales or solutions engineering experience (3+ years)
  • Technical knowledge of security principles and B2B SaaS compliance
  • Programming fundamentals in Python or Javascript
  • Generative AI and machine learning prototyping experience
  • Cloud and network architecture knowledge
  • Presentation and communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage complex relationships with C-level stakeholders
  • Problem-solving and self-directed learning
