About this role

A sourcing engineer will bridge early-stage ocean energy technology designs with manufacturing reality, evaluating vendor capabilities and optimizing part sourcing strategies across fabrication, machining, and casting suppliers. You'll partner with engineering teams on design-for-manufacturability decisions and manage supplier relationships through scale.

What you'll do

  • Analyze engineering designs and CAD models to identify optimal manufacturing sources based on complexity, materials, and vendor capabilities
  • Provide early design feedback on feasibility, costs, lead times, and GD&T tolerancing to optimize designs before production
  • Audit and onboard domestic and international fabrication suppliers, mapping equipment capacity to product requirements
  • Serve as primary technical contact with suppliers, managing release packages, BOMs, and change orders
  • Build and maintain partnerships with contract manufacturers, steel fabricators, and machining suppliers to meet SOW requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance
