AI Engineer, Intern
About this role
Postman is hiring an AI Engineer Intern to work on large-scale AI and agentic systems, from data pipeline design through production deployment. You'll own discrete pieces of real systems under senior mentorship, spanning model development, productionization, and operational practices rather than shadowing or coursework-style projects.
What you'll do
- Translate product requirements into AI problem statements in collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams
- Build and validate AI models using PyTorch or JAX, running large-scale experiments and evaluating against defined metrics
- Design data pipelines and AI store architecture under senior engineer guidance
- Help construct inference APIs and batch scoring workflows, integrating outputs with backend services
- Support AIOps practices including model versioning, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging
- Document experiments, design decisions, and runbooks; identify fairness, interpretability, and privacy concerns

- Python or Rust programming fundamentals
- PyTorch or JAX framework experience
- Data manipulation with Pandas and SQL
- Machine learning systems and model development
- Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) — nice to have
- Docker containerization — nice to have
- Model serving tools (vLLM, Triton, Ray Serve) — nice to have
- Clear written and verbal communication
