Software Engineer, Forward Deployed AI
About this role
Join Ramp's AI Solutions team as a forward-deployed engineer who partners with enterprise customers to design, prototype, and implement custom AI workflows across their finance operations. You'll own the technical side of customer engagements—from discovery and architecture through production launch—working directly with clients to translate their goals into secure, scalable AI systems built on Ramp's platform.
What you'll do
- Conduct technical discovery and translate customer goals into system requirements covering security, privacy, reliability, and scalability
- Design and document solution architectures including data flows, integrations, security models, and operational runbooks
- Partner directly with enterprise customers and end users to understand workflows, constraints, and adoption blockers
- Prototype and validate AI workflows with customers to de-risk approaches and prove product-market fit
- Drive projects from bootcamp through implementation, launch, and operational handoff to customer teams
- Convert successful deployments into reusable patterns, components, and playbooks for future engagements

- Solutions architecture and technical consulting
- ML/GenAI fundamentals: problem decomposition, evaluation, deployment trade-offs
- Production-grade coding in Python, TypeScript, Java, Go, or similar
- LLM systems design including RAG, agents, monitoring, and evaluations
- Cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed systems patterns
- System design for security, scalability, and data pipeline integration
- API and enterprise system integration experience
- Technical documentation and stakeholder communication
