About this role

Realm seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical lead for customer integrations and onsite deployments in mining operations. You'll spend ~25% of time in the field diagnosing complex systems, rapidly prototyping solutions, and translating operational needs into scalable technical requirements for the engineering team.

What you'll do

  • Travel onsite (~25%) to embed with customers, shadow operations, and understand workflows and integration requirements
  • Rapidly prototype and build field solutions to validate ideas, troubleshoot issues, and prove feasibility before engineering handoff
  • Lead technical integration work across APIs, data pipelines, hardware/software interfaces, and security-sensitive deployments
  • Translate field insights into clear technical requirements and specs for the engineering team
  • Diagnose and resolve complex operational and systems issues in demanding, sometimes degraded environments
  • Represent customer technical realities internally and advocate for product/engineering changes reflecting true customer needs
