About this role
Retell AI is seeking a Telephony Engineer to own the technical success of voice AI integrations with enterprise communication platforms. You'll troubleshoot complex SIP/RTP issues, support enterprise clients post-onboarding, and drive product improvements based on customer feedback.
What you'll do
- Manage SIP integrations with CCaaS/CPaaS platforms (NiCE, Five9, Avaya, Genesys, Amazon Connect, Twilio, Telnyx)
- Investigate and resolve call failures using PCAP analysis, SIP traces, and carrier logs
- Serve as primary technical contact for enterprise customers post-onboarding
- Debug voice quality issues and improve call reliability
- Translate customer technical feedback into actionable product improvements
- Drive future platform integration initiatives

- SIP Protocol (RFC 3261) and RTP debugging
- PCAP analysis and Wireshark/TShark packet inspection
- TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, and firewall networking
- CPaaS/cloud communication platform experience (Twilio, Plivo, Telnyx)
- Python, Bash, or JavaScript scripting
- Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, or Kamailio administration
- Enterprise customer communication and support
- Low-latency networking troubleshooting
