About this role
Join Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies to investigate complex, cross-stack issues spanning embedded systems, networking, and cloud services for a fleet of 100,000+ electric vehicles. This role combines systems debugging with fleet-scale data analysis to detect regressions, validate fixes, and inform software release decisions through telemetry-driven root cause analysis.
What you'll do
- Investigate and root-cause issues across embedded Linux, networking, firmware, and cloud services on production vehicles
- Analyze fleet telemetry and logs using SQL, PySpark, and Databricks to detect issues and quantify impact
- Gate software releases by defining health criteria, monitoring rollouts, and advising go/no-go decisions
- Build automated monitoring dashboards and alerting systems to detect fleet-level health patterns early
- Conduct on-vehicle testing and diagnostics to reproduce and validate system behavior
- Partner across firmware, platform, and cloud teams to trace and resolve issues spanning system boundaries
What they're looking for
- Python and/or C/C++ programming
- Linux systems knowledge (processes, networking, logs)
- SQL and PySpark for large-scale data analysis
