Rocket Lab seeks an Integration & Test Engineer II to lead optical payload integration, alignment, and verification for advanced EO/IR systems supporting national defense space missions. This hands-on role involves optical bench setup, metrology, environmental testing, and cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and systems teams in Tucson, AZ.

What you'll do

  • Lead integration, alignment, calibration, and verification of advanced EO/IR optical payloads for spaceborne sensors
  • Execute optical bench setup, alignment, metrology, and environmental test readiness activities
  • Develop and refine test procedures, optical characterization methods, and performance-validation processes
  • Support environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, shock) and monitor optical performance compliance
  • Drive resolution of integration issues, test anomalies, and optical performance deviations
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and AIT teams on optical-mechanical-electrical integration
