About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to optimize assembly and integration processes for rockets and spacecraft. You'll conduct feasibility studies, support design-for-manufacturability efforts, engineer factory systems, troubleshoot production issues, and drive process improvements across manufacturing, test, and integration operations.

What you'll do

  • Prepare feasibility studies and conduct manufacturing R&D projects to evaluate new processes and technologies
  • Partner with Design Engineering to incorporate Design for Manufacture principles and ensure scalable production
  • Design, procure, install, and validate assembly, test, and verification processes for factory operations
  • Support development builds and resolve issues to accelerate production ramp-up and improve yield
  • Diagnose failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement risk mitigation and corrective actions
  • Drive process improvements and change management across manufacturing while assessing design and process impact
