About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Test and Launch Operations Engineer I to operate Electron and Neutron launch vehicles from the control room, executing complex test sequences and managing ground systems during integrated testing and launch operations at Wallops Island.

What you'll do

  • Operate ground systems as launch console operator during tests, rehearsals, and launches for Electron and Neutron vehicles
  • Support development, integration, and testing of launch pad infrastructure, GSE, and facility systems
  • Lead and execute testing campaigns including GSE commissioning and ground system readiness checks
  • Develop operational procedures, test plans, and emergency response protocols for ground operations
  • Design and improve human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for ground control systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve real-time issues during test and launch operations
