Roku seeks a Software Engineer for Advanced Development to design and operate build systems for embedded devices, enabling AI-driven automation and supporting developer productivity across complex product lines.

What you'll do

  • Design and operate build systems across Bazel and BitBake/OpenEmbedded environments for embedded products
  • Integrate build infrastructure with AI agents and automation tools to enable autonomous workflows
  • Optimize build systems for resource-constrained hardware including set-top boxes, TVs, and speakers
  • Deliver feature enhancements and bug fixes while supporting development teams
  • Interpret build output and troubleshoot system issues to keep teams unblocked
  • Improve build reliability, speed, and developer experience organization-wide
