About this role

Saronic Technologies is hiring an Electrical Build Engineer in Franklin, LA to oversee the fabrication, integration, and testing of electrical systems for autonomous surface vessels. You'll bridge remote design teams in Austin with on-site shipyard operations, managing everything from power distribution and control systems to autonomous platform integration while ensuring compliance with marine electrical standards.

What you'll do

  • Design, analyze, and install electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, wiring harnesses, and sensor integration for autonomous surface vessels
  • Serve as technical liaison between engineering, drafting, and production teams to resolve challenges during vessel construction
  • Identify non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and drive resolution through Issue Review Boards and rework plans
  • Lead and coordinate Engineering Change Orders with full traceability, communication, and verification
  • Perform electrical testing, commissioning, and verification including continuity checks, megger testing, and functional tests
  • Manage CAD models and documentation to record as-built changes and maintain technical drawings for regulatory compliance

  • Marine electrical systems and maritime industry standards (ABS, IEEE 45, ABYC, US Coast Guard regulations)
  • Electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical
  • Electrical testing equipment operation including multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and power quality analyzers
  • Schematic interpretation and wiring diagram analysis
  • Wire sizing, circuit protection, grounding, and bonding techniques
  • Power distribution and motor control fundamentals
  • Shipyard environment experience and hands-on troubleshooting
  • Cross-functional communication with engineers, technicians, and quality teams
