Electrical Engineer – UUVs & Undersea Electronics
About this role
Saronic Technologies seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for unmanned underwater vehicles and subsea electronics. You'll lead architecture through field testing, collaborating across mechanical, software, and systems teams to deliver mission-critical platforms for harsh marine environments.
What you'll do
- Design electrical architectures, power distribution, motor controls, and sensor interfaces for UUVs, AUVs, ROVs, and subsea payloads
- Select and integrate subsea-rated components including connectors, batteries, penetrators, processors, and communication modules
- Create schematics, PCB layouts, cable drawings, and interface control documentation
- Integrate electronics into pressure housings and develop interfaces for sonar, acoustic modems, navigation systems, and thrusters
- Troubleshoot and support electrical integration of propulsion, navigation, communications, and energy storage subsystems
- Support environmental qualification testing including pressure, thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC assessments
