About this role

Saronic Technologies seeks a Marine Build Engineer to design, integrate, and commission auxiliary machinery and fluid systems for autonomous surface vessels. You'll collaborate with engineering teams in Austin while overseeing hands-on installation, testing, and problem-solving at the shipyard in Franklin, LA.

What you'll do

  • Design and integrate auxiliary machinery systems including pumps, ballast, fire suppression, hydraulics, and fluid transfer systems
  • Perform CAD modeling, analysis, and system optimization in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Serve as liaison between engineering, production, and drafting teams to resolve technical challenges during construction
  • Identify and resolve non-conformances through root cause analysis, IRBs, and rework coordination
  • Lead Engineering Change Orders ensuring traceability, communication, and verification
  • Oversee installation, functional testing, and commissioning of pumps, piping, valves, and auxiliary equipment

  • Marine auxiliary systems and pumps expertise
  • P&ID interpretation and piping isometrics
  • Fire suppression system design and marine fire codes
  • Pump sizing and fluid system calculations
  • ABS, NFPA, and US Coast Guard regulatory knowledge
  • Shipyard environment experience
  • Cross-functional communication and problem-solving
