About this role
Scout Motors seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer specializing in airbags and safety restraints to oversee supplier quality planning and execution from development through mass production. You'll ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, manage supplier performance, and collaborate across teams to meet Scout's quality and reliability expectations for its electric and range-extended vehicles.
What you'll do
- Manage supplier quality planning using APQP and VDA processes from advanced development to mass production
- Conduct supplier audits, corrective actions, and PPAP approval to ensure performance and reliability standards
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers on Scout quality expectations, manufacturing processes, and industrialization milestones
- Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Supplier Quality tools
- Facilitate root cause analysis, containment, and resolution of quality issues with cross-functional coordination
- Monitor manufacturing process development, launch readiness, and design changes with risk escalation
