About this role
Sesame is seeking an iOS/Android Automation Engineer to design and own the mobile test automation strategy for their voice companion app shipping on both platforms. You'll build the test infrastructure that powers CI/CD, establish quality signals for release readiness, and partner with engineers to ensure reliable, high-quality releases on a regular cadence.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain iOS and Android test automation in CI/CD pipeline
- Define tiered testing strategy: quick sanity checks, deeper regression, and manual testing
- Automate critical user flows such as onboarding, messaging, payments, and notifications with meaningful result validation
- Triage test failures with clear diagnostics to help engineers fix issues without reproduction
- Automatically distinguish between app, backend, OS, device, network, and test infrastructure problems
- Maintain test dashboards, documentation, and release notes to communicate real risk before shipping
What they're looking for
- Mobile test automation frameworks (XCUITest, Espresso, Appium, Maestro, Detox, or similar)
- iOS and Android testing experience
- CI/CD integration and release pipeline experience
- Programming and scripting for test harnesses and tooling
- Test management tools like TestRail
- Mobile observability platforms (Datadog, Firebase, crash reporting)
- Debugging and troubleshooting flaky tests
- Release risk assessment and test prioritization
Benefits
- 401(k) with 3.5% employer match
- 100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental for you and dependents
- Unlimited PTO and sick time
- Flexible spending account with up to $1,650/year employer match
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Competitive stock options
