About this role

Shield AI seeks an Engineer I in Electromechanical engineering to support the design and integration of avionics systems for next-generation autonomous aircraft. You will work on electromechanical packaging, thermal management, and aircraft integration while collaborating across functional teams in a fast-paced defense-tech environment.

What you'll do

  • Design electromechanical solutions for avionics packaging, electrical interconnects, and thermal management
  • Create 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and design documentation
  • Perform structural, thermal, and modal analyses under senior engineer guidance
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers on mechanical interfaces for circuit cards, connectors, and harnesses
  • Support prototype builds, system integration, environmental testing, and failure analysis
  • Investigate design and manufacturing issues, evaluate solutions, and document findings
