About this role

Sierra is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build healthcare integration capabilities that enable AI agents to safely connect with EHRs and healthcare systems. You'll own production integrations with Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, and similar platforms, establishing standards for secure, compliant healthcare workflows.

What you'll do

  • Design and build core healthcare integration primitives and reusable platform capabilities for data access, authentication, and authorization
  • Own production integrations with major EHR systems using FHIR, HL7, APIs, and customer-specific patterns
  • Partner with Agent Engineers to ship healthcare workflows like appointment scheduling, patient intake, and CRM updates
  • Serve as technical SME with customers' EHR, IT, security, and operations teams on interoperability requirements
  • Define Sierra's standards for safe healthcare agent actions including validation, permissions, human-in-the-loop review, and PHI safeguards
  • Build platform capabilities for write-back workflows, audit logging, observability, testing, and deployment across customers
