Product Design Engineer Intern
About this role
Join Skydio's Product Design Team as an intern to work on autonomous drone hardware, designing mechanical components for next-generation prototypes while learning from world-class engineers. You'll tackle real product challenges through creative problem-solving, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical parts and assemblies for prototype drones using CAD
- Investigate and resolve root-cause issues on existing and developing products
- Perform hands-on prototyping, testing, and data collection to validate design solutions
- Collaborate with engineering teams and international suppliers on design-for-manufacturing
- Present design work in reviews and iterate based on senior engineer feedback
- Explore manufacturing processes including molding, machining, and composites
