About this role
SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) to manage production processes and new product introduction for Starlink hardware. You'll optimize high-volume manufacturing operations, implement design-for-manufacturing feedback, and drive continuous improvements in quality and efficiency.
What you'll do
- Manage new product introduction of PCBA assemblies, including equipment qualification, line layout design, and tooling
- Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) feedback in collaboration with design engineers
- Implement and automate high-reliability manufacturing processes to enable independent production team operations
- Optimize volume production metrics including yield, quality, cost, manufacturing execution, and process control
- Identify and pursue opportunities for process improvements, output optimization, and cost reduction
- Develop and manage work instructions, process documentation, and team training

- Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- IPC manufacturing standards and quality metrics (CPK, yield, OEE)
- Python and SQL for process optimization
- CAD software such as NX
- High-volume production line ramping and scaling
- Process documentation and technical writing
