About this role
SpaceX is hiring an experienced IT Storage Engineer to design, deploy, and manage enterprise storage infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads like simulation and telemetry at their Cape Canaveral facility. The role requires hands-on expertise with Pure Storage, NetApp, VAST, and HPE systems in a performance-critical on-premises environment.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain multi-tier storage infrastructure including high-performance, capacity, archive, and disaster recovery systems
- Architect and operate exabyte-scale file systems for simulation, telemetry, and high-concurrency workloads
- Administer NetApp, Pure FlashArray/FlashBlade, VAST, and HPE Alletra storage platforms
- Monitor and troubleshoot storage performance across hardware, transport, and protocol layers
- Develop automation tooling for monitoring, capacity planning, and alerting
- Collaborate with compute, networking, and application teams on storage strategy alignment
