About this role
SpaceX seeks a Loads & Dynamics Engineer to support the Starfall re-entry capsule program, analyzing structural loads, vibrations, and dynamic events across all mission phases. You'll develop finite element models, conduct testing campaigns, and build in-house analysis tools while collaborating with responsible engineers and the Falcon dynamics team.
What you'll do
- Build and run finite element models and coupled loads analysis for the capsule
- Perform spacecraft separation, fatigue, and other specialized structural analyses
- Plan and execute full dynamic testing campaigns including pre-test analysis, sensor setup, testing, and correlation
- Develop in-house software tools for dynamic event analysis and correlate with flight data
- Analyze loads and vibration across ground transport, launch, on-orbit, and re-entry phases
