About this role

SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for Starmind, an orbital AI compute constellation powered by space-based solar energy. You'll lead the full manufacturing lifecycle for satellite compute electronics, power systems, and thermal hardware, from process development through high-rate production.

What you'll do

  • Develop and optimize high-rate manufacturing processes for satellite compute hardware and power systems
  • Specify, validate, and characterize manufacturing equipment; perform device modeling and materials failure analysis
  • Build supply chains for materials (wafers, gases, chemicals) and establish incoming quality acceptance criteria
  • Address material and process challenges in panel-level packaging and develop next-generation dielectric solutions
  • Implement in-process metrology tools, design test structures, and integrate simulation data to drive process improvements
  • Lead end-to-end material and process R&D programs to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance reliability
