Cape Canaveral, FLentryAdded today
About this role
SpaceX seeks a new graduate mechanical engineer to support expansion of Cape Canaveral launch operations, including Starship pad development and production scaling. You'll design, test, and manufacture high-performance flight hardware while collaborating across teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize mechanical components using hand calculations and finite element analysis
- Rapidly iterate manufacturing processes and conduct development testing
- Execute design-for-manufacturability improvements to boost production efficiency
- Lead hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of vehicle hardware
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on system integration and mission operations
- Drive business outcomes through hardware development in a high-growth environment
What they're looking for
- Finite element analysis (FEA)
- Engineering fundamentals and first-principles thinking
- Design for manufacturability
- Hand calculations and structural analysis
- Data-driven decision making
- Hardware assembly and integration
- Trade study analysis
- Problem-solving under tight constraints
Benefits
- Work on cutting-edge aerospace technology and Starship operations
- Rapid professional growth and increasing responsibility
- Dynamic role aligned with individual strengths
- Hands-on involvement with real flight hardware
- Mission-critical impact at a pivotal launch site
- Collaborative, interdisciplinary engineering environment
Likely interview questions
- Describe a time you used FEA or hand calculations to solve a design problem—what was your approach and outcome?
- Tell us about a project where you had to rapidly iterate or innovate with limited time or budget constraints.
