Propulsion Engineer (Raptor Test)
About this role
SpaceX seeks a Propulsion Engineer to design, execute, and oversee comprehensive testing of Raptor engines and components at their McGregor, TX facility. You'll manage full test campaigns from planning through data analysis, lead technicians, operate complex fluid and instrumentation systems, and collaborate with design teams to ensure flight readiness of one of the world's most advanced rocket engines.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute engine and component-level tests to evaluate hardware performance under mission conditions
- Own complete test campaigns including planning, system activation, operations, data review, and stand equipment design
- Direct technicians in fabrication and integration of test articles and support equipment
- Operate and troubleshoot National Instruments-based data acquisition, instrumentation, and control systems
- Manage high-pressure gaseous, cryogenic, and propellant fluid systems plus mechanical test stand infrastructure
- Analyze test data and collaborate with engineers to identify anomalies and drive hardware improvements
