About this role
SpaceX seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to serve as the technical liaison for rocket and engine components at the Cape Canaveral launch site. You'll drive manufacturing excellence, resolve supply chain defects, manage new product introductions, and collaborate with suppliers to meet aggressive production timelines while supporting Dragon and Falcon programs.
What you'll do
- Act as primary technical contact for assigned parts, solving manufacturing and quality issues at suppliers to prevent schedule disruptions
- Lead containment activities and drive reliability improvements to protect build and launch schedules
- Conduct root cause analysis on defects, implementing corrective actions at supplier or SpaceX sites
- Own new product introduction (NPI) and production part approval process (PPAP) for new or re-sourced parts
- Perform design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure manufacturability of machined components and assemblies
- Collaborate with procurement to identify and vet suppliers capable of meeting quality and aggressive takt time requirements
